Bryan Loughrey has been Editor of Critical Survey for 30 years. He composed this Anglicised version of Helen Cruickshank’s original poem to read on the occasion of the marriage of his daughter Tess Loughrey-Wake to Nicholas Connell at Hever Castle on 9 June 2018.

Dr Cedric Watts is Emeritus Professor of English Literature at Sussex University. His books include studies of Shakespeare and Conrad.

Deryn Rees-Jones’s debut collection, The Memory Tray, was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection. Her selected poems, What It’s Like to be Alive, were published in 2016.
