FÉlix Germain received his Ph.D. in African Diaspora Studies from the University of California at Berkeley. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Africana Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. He has published articles in French Historical Studies, the Journal of Black Studies, and the Journal of African American Studies. He authored Decolonizing the Republic: African and Caribbean Migrants in Postwar Paris, 1946-1974 (2016). He is currently working on a manuscript on black French women.
