Walter S. Temple is an Assistant Professor of French, and Director of the French Language Program, at Utah Valley University. His primary areas of research include contemporary French and Francophone literary and film studies, queer identities in French literature, and transnational travel narratives in a Franco/Maghrebi bicultural context. He is a regular contributor to the French Review. His forthcoming book (L’Harmattan, Paris-2018) examines the relationship between travel writing and the tourist’s search for otherness as articulated in a constellation of French and Francophone texts and films that subscribe to the genre of literary tourism.
